Bring your appetite to Bates Nut Farm for the first incarnation of the Valley Center Gourmet Food Truck Fest, taking place Saturday, August 18th from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. Join over a dozen of Southern California's finest gourmet food trucks, who will be parked under the trees, offering a wide variety of mobile cuisine.
Parking and admission to the festival are free, and include music, a vendor fair with local businesses & crafts, and a Kids’ Zone. As you taste your way through the impressive mobile gourmet lineup, visit the Bates stage area to listen to a DJ from 3:00 – 6:00, and live music from 6:00 – 9:00. In the Kids’ Zone there will be pony rides for a small charge, and other kid-friendly activities, so be sure to bring the entire family. The VC Gourmet Food Truck Fest is sponsored by Valley View Casino & Hotel in Valley Center and Bates Nut Farm.
Devilicious and Crepes Bonaparte (as seen on the “Great Food Truck Race” on the Food Network), Thai 1 On, Slow Cal BBQ, Groggy’s Fat Sandwiches, Chubby’s Burger and many others. Spotlighting the gourmet food truck movement that has recently hit the scene, the festival celebrates this new style of street food. Try some offerings of Thai street food, comfort food, BBQ, French crepes, gourmet burgers, Bahn Mi Sandwiches, Asian fusion, pierogis, desserts, and more. Open year round, Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center is best known for their pumpkin patch and fall activities, but any time of the year is the perfect time to visit. The farm sits on 100 acres, and is surrounded by oak and mulberry trees. Visitors come from all over the world to enjoy the tranquil setting, picnic under the trees, feed animals at the farm zoo, and shop for nuts, candy and gifts at the two retail stores.
