September 25, 2012

People Water is pleased to announce that it is bringing its bottled water to southern California, which will only strengthen its mission of being a leading provider of eco friendly products providing clean water to thousands of people globally.  In conjunction with its launch in SoCal, People Water has been named the official water provider of the 2012 San Diego Film Festival and is a presenting sponsor of the event, which will be held September 26th through September 30th. CEO Ken Bretschneider and founders Jef Holm and Cody Barker will attend the event to discuss the company’s clean water projects, and People Water will officially be available for sale in southern California at the end of October.

During the festival, bottles of People Water will be available at the Gaslamp Theater, La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art and in VIP Lounges. As part of its eco-friendly philosophy, People Water will also provide recycling bins throughout the festival venues. People Water is also holding a consumer sweepstakes where it will provide two VIP passes to the event for the winner via social media.

“The San Diego Film Festival provides a unique and exciting setting to launch our brand into the California market and we are proud to be an official sponsor,” said Ken Bretschneider, CEO of People Water. “This festival is a place to connect with those equally concerned about the challenges facing the world’s population and share our message about ending the global water crisis, which we believe will resonate with many in the California market.”

Founded in 2001, the San Diego Film Festival is produced by the San Diego Film Foundation with a mission to support independent filmmaking while enhancing the diverse cultural landscape and economic vitality of San Diego. Now in its 11th year, this year’s festival will show more than 100 films and include industry panels and interactive Q&A’s with filmmakers.

“The San Diego Film Festival is all about promoting positive change in our industry and we see People Water advocating a similar mission in its space,” said Kevin Leap, president of the San Diego Film Festival. “We are proud to have them on board and look forward to their contributions to the atmosphere of our festival.”
