9th Annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival Offers Weekend Getaway Packages at Extra Savings

October 1, 2012

Wine and food lovers are invited to explore all that America's Finest City has to offer this fall with culinary vacation packages from San Diego's hottest hotels during one of the nation's largest food and wine celebrations. November 14-18, 2012 kicks off the 9th Annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival, a weeklong culinary classic that brings together the nation's top wine and culinary talent, 70 of San Diego's trendsetting chefs and restaurants and over 170 wineries, breweries and spirit purveyors. The hotel and ticket packages include tickets to a selection of the week's events in addition to stays at some of San Diego's favorite destination hotels for an extended epicurean experience, said Michelle Metter, co-producer of the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival.

"Culinary vacations in the U.S. are becoming more and more popular," added Metter. "It's not uncommon for people to plan entire vacations around experiences that connect the culinary enthusiast with chefs, wineries and spirits. We recognize this trend and we are excited to offer food and wine connoisseurs a fall escape during the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival to one of the most beautiful cities in the country."

The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival has partnered with the city's best hotels to offer luxury hotel and Festival ticket packages at a savings of $100-$300 off the original price. With seven hotels to choose from, packages are available at a range of different price points while supplies last, with accommodations to meet any needs. Packages include 2-night hotel stay and tickets to select events, including wine tasting and/or culinary classes, The Vault: Reserve Wine Experience & Silent Auction and the Wine Spectator Celebrity Chef Luncheon, a 5-course meal prepared by seven nationally acclaimed chefs from across the nation. All packages include tickets to the Festival's signature event on Saturday, November 17, the Grand Tasting, featuring 170 wineries, breweries and spirit purveyors, over 800 wines, 70 San Diego restaurants and the "Chef of the Fest" culinary competition, where San Diego's top chefs go head-to-head for up to $50,000 in cash and prizes.
