Oggi's is in the process of launching its fast-casual pizza franchise concept throughout Southern California, with the second location of Oggi's Pizza Express currently being built out at the former Narraya Thai location at 825 Garnet in Pacific Beach. No word yet on an official opening date. The first location of Oggi's Pizza Express is located at Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union at San Diego State University and is set to open this week.
The Oggi's brand was started by the Hadjis family in Del Mar in 1991 and has since grown to over 15 locations throughout Southern California and Arizona, and is still expanding. “Oggi” stands for “today” in Italian and is meant to symbolize freshness as well as embracing “the here and the now.”
We've never been to an Oggi's, so we have no idea what to expect, but we've been missing Narraya since it closed late last year and are happy to see the voided space filled once again.
