Fun for the Four Legged and Their Two Legged Companions at Cardiff's "Dog Days of Summer" Fest | Saturday, August 9

Cardiff-by-the-Sea is ready to celebrate man’s best friend! Set in this beautiful beach community, this annual one-day street fair for dogs and dog lovers is set for Saturday, August 9, from 10am-5pm on Newcastle Ave, Aberdeen Drive and Liverpool Drive in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. The 9th annual Dog Days of Summer is hosted by Cardiff 101 Main Street, and is expected to draw 10,000 four-legged friends, their fans and family members. 


“This is a great event to benefit the Cardiff community,” said County Supervisor Dave Roberts. “It is fun for the public and their pets, and is the largest of its kind in the region. The County of San Diego is proud to support this community event.”

Dog Days of Summer is San Diego County's largest dog-centric event!  Beginning at 10am, watch or enter in 6 different dog contests including Best Kisser, Cutest Puppy and Best Dressed. New this year, musical talents will be showcased in the afternoon with Tolan Shaw at 1 pm and Trouble in the Wind at 3 pm, brought in partnership with the Belly Up Tavern.

Highlights of this year include a Blessing of the Dogs by the Tibetan Meditation Center, the Lost Abbey beer garden, over 250 booths including pet adoptions from local shelters & rescue organizations as well as specialty pet products & services, delicious food vendors, a Zoom Room agility course, a doggie photo booth courtesy of Photography by Gabriela, doggie cool zones, an expanded kid’s zone and a large silent auction!

Even a chance to win free dog food for a year! Dog Days of Summer’s biggest sponsor, Dirty Dogs is offering a year of free dog food to eight lucky dog owners on Saturday, August 9. To enter, attendees should visit Dirty Dogs on San Elijo Ave and spend $30 or more on the day of the event. At 5pm Dirty Dogs will announce the winners and eight lucky dog owners will enjoy a year of free dog food provided by the Cardiff business.
