San Diego Festival of Beer announced today that Coronado Brewing Company will release a special brew for the festival's 20th Anniversary. The limited edition beer, which Coronado Brewing has dubbed 'SD Party Pilsner,' is being brewed for keg release. The brewery will also donate $1 of each pint sold on the evening of August 20, to the San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC), the nonprofit group that runs the annual San Diego Festival of Beer, to benefit local cancer charities.
"As a cancer survivor, I am very excited we had the opportunity to work with San Diego Professionals Against Cancer & the San Diego Festival of Beer,” said Rick Chapman, President and Co-Founder of Coronado Brewing Company. “I can't think of a better way to raise funds for cancer research than creating a unique CBC brew for people to enjoy"
The brew will be launched at the San Diego Professionals Against Cancer mixer on August 20 at the Coronado Brewing Co. tasting room located on Knoxville St. After the launch, the beer will be available for sale at the Knoxville tasting room and will be distributed to select breweries throughout San Diego, until the start of the festival. The special suds can also be sampled at Coronado’s booth at the 20th Anniversary San Diego Festival of Beer at Broadway Pier Friday, September 19.
“We are very excited about our collaboration with Coronado Brewing Co. in the development of this special, commemorative beer,” said Russ Novak, SDPAC board member. “Their generosity, combined with the creativity they are displaying in the crafting of this special brew, reflect great credit upon them both as supporters of the local fight against cancer, and of masters of the brewing trade.”
