|Beef short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes|
La Jolla's Roppongi Restaurant & Sushi Bar has introduced an array of new signature dishes and drinks just in time for the fall season. Executive Chef Alfie Szeprethy has created more than 15 new menu items highlighting his award-winning 'New Asian' cuisine, including seasonal selections of tapas, salads, soups and entrées.
Featured items include hot and sour soup made with chicken broth, bamboo shoots, red chili, mushrooms, tofu and egg for $8; organic baby kale and fig salad made with plumped Calimyrna figs, crispy prosciutto, blue cheese and walnuts with roasted garlic vinaigrette for $13; crispy pork gyoza for $12; and beef Korean short ribs with rice, Korean barbecue sauce and kimchi, priced at $15.
New entrée items include stir-fried shrimp lo mein with tiger shrimp, roasted garlic, tomatoes, wild mushrooms and micro cilantro for $26; ribeye cap served with roasted garlic chive mashed potatoes, broccolini and peppercorn demi-glace for $40; beef short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes, wild mushroom ragu and bacon demi-glace, priced at $35; and seafood yakisoba, a combination of shrimp, calamari, sea scallops, snow peas, red bell peppers, green cabbage and soba noodles for $26. Roppongi will also offer a new dark chocolate crémeux, priced at $9, for dessert, served with Carlsbad berries and toasted hazelnuts.
A new lineup of buzzworthy cocktails has also been introduced including Amber Rose, made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, sweet vermouth, Aperol and angostura bitters; Pear Blossom, a combination of pear infused Svedka vodka, Saint Germaine, ginger beer and lime; and the Roppongi Sling, made with Seagram's Gin, lemon, lime, simple syrup, cherry heering, grenadine and a splash of soda water.
