L'Auberge Del Mar Welcomes New Fall Bing Crosby Racing Season with Opening Day Bash | Friday, November 7

October 30, 2014

L’Auberge Del Mar will continue its tradition of being the gathering place after the races with the Fall Opening Day After Party to celebrate the inaugural Bing Crosby Season at Del Mar Race Track. On Friday, November 7, the hotel will celebrate the new fall race season with a party in the Living Room and Bleu Bar that combines ocean views with the hottest music by DJ Gabe Vega.

“We are excited to welcome the fall season at the track and look forward to creating new traditions at the hotel that celebrate its unique character,” said Bob Harter, director of marketing for L’Auberge Del Mar. “Not only will we host fall’s version of the Opening Day After Party, but the hotel will also continue to be a place to gather for great food, hand crafted cocktails and lively entertainment all race season long.”

L’Auberge Del Mar has long had strong ties with the Del Mar Race Track. In 1927, the hotel, which was known as Hotel Del Mar, was a gathering place for celebrities who came for sun, sand and Bing Crosby’s newly opened Del Mar Race Track. Today, the hotel continues to draw race goers looking for seaside luxury just steps from the track. For the past six years, L’Auberge Del Mar has been host to summer season’s biggest Opening Day After Party drawing more than 2,000 guests to a multi-level club experience that takes place throughout the hotel.

The party starts at 5pm and the $50 per person admission includes appetizer selections by talented Executive Chef Brandon Fortune. Craft beers, a signature Bourbon bar and selection of specialty drinks are available for purchase. Space is limited and tickets are available online.

After a thrilling summer of fast racing and huge events, the legendary Del Mar Race Track will open again for its inaugural Bing Crosby Season, November 7-30. Old Hollywood style meets classic Southern California cool this November at Del Mar with four weeks of elite Thoroughbred racing, fresh events and musical performances to keep the good times rolling. The added season pays tribute to the glamor and excitement of 1930s when Hollywood icon Bing Crosby founded the track with some of his celebrity pals.

The Bing Crosby Season will run a total of 15 racing days - primarily Thursday through Sunday - with an earlier daily post time of 12pm on weekends and 12:30pm on weekdays. The one exception will be Thanksgiving Day, November 27, with first post shifted to 11am. The season kicks off with a Gatsby-style, Opening Day party on Friday, November 7. Stars and fans will show off their fall finest in an outrageous day of racing and revelry. The afternoon will feature an “Old Hollywood Fashion Contest,” with awards being given for Best Dressed Couple, Best Old Hollywood and Best Celebrity Lookalike.
