Auditions for the final season of Fox's hit singing competition, American Idol, will take place on Monday, June 22, at downtown's Waterfront Park, from 9am to approximately 5pm. This audition is not like the one that took place on the USS Midway back in 2011 where all the Idol judges were present. Rather than being one of the 5 major audition, San Diego is one of the 11 smaller auditions where potential contestants will perform in front of producers rather than the actual judges for this season - Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban - who will not be in attendance.
Those interested in auditioning in person for American Idol must bring a photo identification, an additional document to verify proof of your age, and a completed personal release form (available online). Anyone under 18 years of age must provide additional parental consent. Nobody under 5 years of age can audition. Can't make the live audition - there are also online auditions.
