Celebrate International Bacon Day On September 5 With These Four San Diego Dishes

The Cravory's Pancakes and Bacon cookies
August 29, 2015

International Bacon Day is Saturday, September 5, and while San Diego Bacon Fest is the obvious choice for the ultimate Bacon Day celebration, we have four local eateries offering some of the best bacon dishes in America's Finest City. Ranging from appetizers and entrees to desserts and drinks, no one does bacon better than San Diego chefs.

Known for their wild and delicious cookie flavors, The Cravory in Point Loma has raised the bar for National Bacon Day with their Pancakes and Bacon Cookie ($2 per cookie). Satisfying sweet and salty taste buds, these cookies are made with hand-chopped maple smoked bacon baked in a pancake dough. Equally as unexpected as they are delicious.
The Blind Burro's Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños
East Village eatery, The Blind Burro,  will be spicing things up with their Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños ($8). Made with house made chorizo, queso oaxaca, applewood bacon, and chipotle-tomatillo-piloncillo sauce. This unexpected twist will leave mouths watering!
Blue Ocean Robata's scallops wrapped in bacon
Combining the fresh flavors of the ocean with the heat and tradition of the robata grill, Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar will be celebrating with their scallops wrapped with bacon ($10). This delicacy is served during dinner hours only and is ready to be devoured!
Urban Solace's Kitchen Sink Biscuits 'n' Gravy
For a classic twist on bacon brunch, head on over to Urban Solace  Matt Gordon's famous North Park eatery, for their Bluegrass Brunch. Celebrate with their Kitchen Sink Biscuits 'n' Gravy with sausage, brown sugar slab bacon, and two fried eggs on top, ($14.50) being served from 9:30 to 2:30pm.
