Kitchen 4140 & Eight Local Chefs To Present “Harvest of Fall” Charity Dinner On October 19 To Benefit Local Youth Home

September 30, 2015

Kitchen 4140 will showcase the full spectrum of autumnal fare on Monday, October 19 as eight talented chefs from in and around San Diego gather for “Harvest of Fall,” a prix fixe dinner event celebrating the changing season and benefiting local youth home Toussaint Academy. Priced at $125 per person and taking place around the rustic communal table in Kitchen 4140’s private wine room, Harvest of Fall will begin at 6pm with a social hour sips and bites as guests mingle throughout the wine room and restaurant’s garden, followed by a seated eight-course dinner served between 7 and 9pm and emceed by radio host Sonic of Energy 103.7 FM.

Harvest of Fall’s participating chefs include Chef Kurt Metzger, Owner/Chef at Kitchen 4140; Chef Chad Kilgore, Chef Partner at Cheffin’ Around; Chef Nicolas Bour, Executive Chef at Humphreys; Chef James Montejano, Executive Chef at La Valencia Hotel; Chef Ami Cisneros, Executive Chef at The Hopping Pig; Chef Annalise Brolaski, Executive Pastry Chef of Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub and Owner/Chef of Sweet Organic Love; Chef RoseAna Peyron, Executive Chef at High Dive; and Chef Alex Emery (independent). Courses will be paired with vineyard-to-table style wines from family-owned, sustainable wineries in California and beyond, and will be presented by Brendan and Christina Quigley courtesy of Quigley Fine Wines.

Harvest of Fall is the second installment of Kitchen 4140’s dinner series benefiting Toussaint Academy, a youth home in downtown San Diego serving at-risk teens between the ages of 14-19. All net proceeds from Harvest of Fall will be donated to Toussaint Academy, while several of the teens will play a part during the evening - including welcoming, seating and serving guests.

During the summer of 2015, Chef Kurt Metzger of Kitchen 4140, who spent time in a youth home during his teen years, created a mentorship program specifically for Toussaint Academy’s youth, accepting two teens for 12-week internships that would provide them with real world skills and increase their chances of future success. Metzger’s intern program has thus far been a success, with the program’s first participant permanently hired on at Kitchen 4140 after successfully completing the internship last summer.

Reservations to Harvest of Fall can be secured by calling Kitchen 4140 at (858) 483-4140 or visiting the restaurant in-person ahead of time.
