As the late great Robin Williams once said, "Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" Continuing our mouthwatering monthly roundup of food, wine and beer events, here is our list of all the fun & tasty happenings coming to America's Finest City this April. Check out the 50+ events taking place throughout the month and get out there before May Gray and June Gloom take over. Let's party!

April 1, A Passion For Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and More - This VinDiego special event takes place from 6-8:30pm at the Courtyard Marriott Ball Room in Liberty Station. Guests will have the chance to taste samples from wine-making pioneers, up-and-coming hipster producers, and everything in between. This intimate sunset gathering of world class pinot and chardonnay winemakers is not an event to miss. April 2, Benchmark Brewing Burgers & Beer - The San Diego Burger Battle is teaming up with Benchmark Brewing to find the best burger in San Diego and will send the winner to the World Food Championships for a shot at over $100,000 in prizes. Competitors will have 1 hour to grill their best and most creative burger, which will then be paired with their favorite Benchmark beer and scored by a panel judges. The winner gets some grill swag, bragging rights and a free entry into the San Diego Burger Battle, a $100 value. Anyone who is great with a grill, from Joes to Pros, is welcomed to enter. April 3, Wood Fired Beer Brunch At Thorn St. Brewery - This Sunday Brunch will include 2 courses from Caliano food truck paired with two different beers from Thorn Street. The meal will end with a toasted foie gras donut from Nomad Donuts. Tickets are $27.37.

April 3, Chocolate Festival - For the 5th year, the San Diego Maritime Museum is hosting the ultimate party for chocolate lovers. An event for all ages, the Chocolate Festival will give attendees the chance to experience all-things chocolate at participating vendor booths including opportunities to create their own chocolates, learn kitchen tricks with chocolate, check out culinary demonstrations, build there own chocolate pizza, and, if 21 and over, enjoy a beer and wine chocolate pairing. April 4, East Village Opening Day Block Party - The East Village Association is stepping up to the plate again for the 6th Annual East Village Opening Day Block Party. Taking over J Street between 6th and 10th Avenues, this free-to-attend, family-friendly event has become a San Diego tradition where locals and visitors celebrate opening day of San Diego Padres baseball at PETCO Park, all while exploring San Diego's largest livable urban neighborhood - East Village. April 6, James Beard Preview Dinner at Ironside Fish & Oyster - Michelin-starred Executive Chef of Ironside Fish & Oyster, Jason McLeod, was recently invited to host an exclusive dinner at the James Beard House in New York City this April 21. April 7, SoundBite @ Solare Restaurant - This edition of the popular food & music dinner series will take place at Solare Restaurant in Liberty Station, featuring music from Gabriela & La Buena Onda paired with a 6 course meal from chefs Nick Brune of Eco Caters, Accursio Lota of Solare Restaurant, and Jeff Bonilla of Evolve Cuisine. April 7, Kitchens for Good 3-Course Cooking Demo with Chef Ivan Flowers - Giving Back has never tasted so good! April 10, Chateau de Lomaland: An Evening of Radical Beer & Wine - To celebrate their beer becoming available in California's wine country, Modern Times is hosting an evening of beer & wine pairings at the Lomaland Fermentorium. April 12, Saxon Brown Wine Dinner at Stake Chophouse - Take a tasting tour of some of the finest of Northern California’s petite vineyards with one of its most illustrious viticulturists, Jeff Gaffner of Saxon Brown Wines. April 15, The Spirit of Baja Dinner with Javier Plascencia at Westgate Hotel - The Westgate Hotel Executive Chef, Fabrice Hardel and Celebrity Chef Javier Plascencia are partnering to present an unforgettable five-course wine pairing dinner and culinary journey inspired by the vibrant flavors of Baja California, Mexico at the Westgate second annual Spirit of Baja Dinner. April 17, EarthFair - San Diego EarthWork's will host its 27th annual EarthFair, the largest free environmental fair in the world, at Balboa Park. April 17, 30th Annual Fallbrook Avocado Festival - Fallbrook is known as the avocado capital of the world and each year the town celebrates spring with the Fallbrook Avocado Festival, featuring all things avocado for a day of celebration. April 28, The "70's Zone" at the Music Box - Get ready to be transported to the groovy 70s! Benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, this 70's party will start with "The Gong Show" (remember that show?) with a comedy competition between many of San Diego's brightest and funniest, judged by a panel of San Diego's favorite celebrities. April 30, San Diego Food Bank’s Foodtasia Gala: Chefs, Cork & Craft - The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank invite guests to their 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Miramar for an evening celebration of local, seasonal food, and the culinary talent of more than 25 of San Diego's best chefs. Each table of 10 guests will be hosted by a chef who will personally prepare a multi-course dinner with drink pairings.
