March 8, 2016

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game is coming to San Diego's Petco Park this July, and in addition to the game and Home Run Derby, there will be a whole host of other events taking place throughout the city. Major League Baseball and Soul Pose are joining together to host the Soul Pose MLB All-Star Yoga event on Saturday, July 9 at Waterfront Park. In addition, The Color Run MLB All-Star 5K presented by Nike will return to All-Star Week and take place on Sunday, July 10 in downtown San Diego. Registration is now open for both events.

This will be the first ever Soul Pose MLB All-Star Yoga and is sure to provide a unique and entertaining All-Star experience. Participants of all ages and yoga skill levels will take part in a 60-minute yoga party that incorporates music, body paint, bubbles and more. The new event will take place at Waterfront Park and will have sessions at 8am and 11am. Fans who sign up by March 16 will receive a special Pre Sale price of $19.99 if signing up as part of a team of two or more.

The Color Run MLB All-Star 5K will be the third joint event conducted by The Color Run and MLB at an All-Star Week. Participants will make their way through an All-Star themed course that will feature appearances by MLB legends, mascots and other special guests. The event is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which participants are doused with four different colored powders along the route. The race will start and finish at Waterfront Park and feature a downtown course that takes participants along the water and around the San Diego Convention Center, home to All-Star FanFest. Following the event, the Finish Festival will take place in Waterfront Park and include music, giveaways and contests. The paint race, which is open to participants of all ages, is an entertainment experience for the whole family.

"We are looking forward to showing off America‟s Finest City during All-Star Week. The Color Run's route downtown and along the Embarcadero will showcase some of the best views our city has to offer," said San Diego Padres Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer Wayne Partello. "Soul Pose MLB All-Star Yoga at Waterfront Park is sure to be a popular addition to the lineup of activities that allow fans to get involved in All-Star Week."

The starting line will open at 7am with additional waves beginning every few minutes. All registered participants will receive a limited edition Tropicolor Tour Participant Kit, including a custom race t- shirt, gold finishers medal, tattoos, headband and powder packets. Fans who sign up by March 16 will receive a special Early Bird price of $29.99 if signing up as part of a team of four or more. Thousands of fans are expected to participate in this unique fun run and festival. Previous All-Star races have been held in St. Louis (2009), Anaheim (2010), Kansas City (2012), New York (2013), Minneapolis (2014) and Cincinnati (2015).

"We are excited to bring our fans another way to take part in All-Star festivities with the new Soul Pose MLB All-Star Yoga event created by the people behind The Color Run," said Jacqueline Parkes, Chief Marketing Officer, Major League Baseball. "The Color Run presented by Nike event has been a successful integration into All-Star Week and we're sure this year's events will prove to be unique, memorable experiences for Padres fans in Southern California and Mexico."

The 2016 All-Star Game is set for July 12, and San Diego will host the Midsummer Classic for the third time. The franchise also hosted in 1978 and '92. However, 2016 will mark the first time the game will have been played at Petco Park.
