Goose Island Brewing Migration Week Is Coming To San Diego

Goose Island Brewing Company is bringing its famous Migration Week to San Diego this April 19-22, featuring numerous events taking place around San Diego, including a kick-off party at Quartyard, a dinner at Bracero and more.

Goose Island Migration Week will kick-off with a kick flip. Taking place at Quartyard in San Diego's East Village on Tuesday April 19, from 7-10pm, the event will feature a wide variety of Goose Island beers, food from local food trucks, and a back and forth game of SKATE as Chicago’s best skaters take on a couple of west coast skaters. There will also be a DJ spinning and Chicago artist Brain Killer painting a mural on a wall of skateboard decks. Of course, there will be plenty of Goose Island swag and the chance to sample some unique Goose Island beers. This event is free to attend but you must RSVP online.

Also on April 19 is the Bourbon County Flash Flock, taking place at Gaslamp Union Kitchen & Tap starting at 10pm. The best thing to wind down from a kick-ass kickoff party, is with more beer. Join the Migration Week at union Kitchen & Tap for a tasty night cap.

On Wednesday, April 20, Don't miss the Meet the Brewer: A Beer Sampling event, taking place at Clem’s Bottle House from 5-6pm. Stop by to sample some Goose Island brews and geek out with one of the brewers. This is the chance to get your hands on some rare Goose Island beers.

Also on April 20 is a complimentary beer pairing dinner at Bracero, featuring dishes from Chef Ned Elliott of Foreign and Domestic in Austin and Bracero's own Chef Javier Plascencia, expertly paired with the brewery’s offerings. Expect new spins on Bracero's traditional Mexican dishes with plenty of Austin flair and lots of Goose Island beer. On Thursday, April 20, Goose is hosting a Black Friday Bar Crawl in the Convoy District starting at 5pm. Bounce around to Common Theory, Soho Gastro Pub, Shanghai Saloon and O’Brien’s Pub and enjoy selections of secret Bourbon County Stout stash and other barrel aged beers for this special night.

The final night of Migration Week will start with a Beer Deconstruction at The Tap Room in Pacific Beach on Friday, April 22 from 5-7pm where experts will walk guests through the mystery of Goose Island's iconic, funky Belgian beer, Matilda. Caroline, resident lab genius, will walk attendees through all aspects of the brewing process and guest will get the chance to taste rare, vintage, Matilda alongside new batches. After that event, starting at 10pm at OB Noodle House #2, there will be another Bourbon County Flash Flock. Close out the weekend and send off the Goose Island team while drinking some rare beers.
