Bankers Hill Bar + Restaurant has introduced Tyler Nollenberger as the new chef de cuisine. His appointment comes after five years at sister restaurant, Market Restaurant + Bar, where he worked under owner, acclaimed chef, and three-time James Beard Award nominee, Carl Schroeder.
“Like Carl Schroeder, Tyler’s passion is really derived by the ingredients,” said BANKERS HILL co-owner, Terryl Gavre. “At BANKERS HILL, he has the opportunity to interpret the high-end, progressive cuisine of MARKET as a casual, neighborhood restaurant. He has already made a fantastic impression on our regular patrons, who are lauding Tyler’s flavorful dishes.”
Nollenberger moved to the San Diego area in 2010 to accept a position with MARKET. Prior to that, he spent some time in the Midwest, working with critically renown Alinea Restaurant in Chicago. A native of Santa Cruz, CA., Nollenberger attended The Cabrillo School of Hospitality at Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA.
Bankers Hill Bar + Restaurant is located at 2202 4th Avenue in San Diego's Bankers Hill neighborhood. In addition to the downtown location, Bankers Hill recently opened an outpost inside Terminal 1 at San Diego International Airport.
