Williams-Sonoma is opening a new store at the Westfield UTC in La Jolla, which will feature local food product and offers frequent complimentary cooking demonstrations. The location is celebrating its Grand Opening starting on Friday, July 1 with a weekend schedule of festivities, including a $1,000 sweepstakes, product raffle, interactive events, tastings and cooking classes for all ages.
Williams-Sonoma’s UTC Grand Opening Weekend festivities include opening day on Friday, July 1, featuring a coffee & espresso bar from 10am to noon, a Breville pizza demonstration with Ballast Point beer tasting from 12-2pm, and a dessert bar featuring treats from Season 52 from 1:30-4:30pm. The celebration continues on Saturday, July 2, starting with a Junior Chef ice cream shop class, for those ages 8-13 starting at 10am. La Jolla Mom, Katie Dillon, will also be on hand to present her favorite cookies from the Cravory in Point Loma to the first 50 guests. Then from noon to 4pm, San Diego's local food and beverage artisans will be showcased at the Artisans’ Market, where guests can taste and experience products firsthand. Rounding out the weekend, on Sunday, July 3, there will be an ice cream & sorbet technique class starting at 10pm, and a Junior Chef summertime cookie decorating class ($20 per person includes Williams-Sonoma Sea Cookie Cutter Set) for those ges 8-13, starting at 2pm.
There is also a Grand Opening Sweepstakes for $1,000 shopping spree taking place prior to opening, with more information available online, in addition to a in store raffle for a chance to win a Breville Ice Cream Compressor and Ice Cream Gift Set.
The new Williams-Sonoma store will carry products from local Southern California food and beverage artisans including Bloom Honey, Coldwater Canyon Jams, EnTube LA, Jackie’s Jams, Marsatta Chocolates, Mike and Diane’s, P. Balistreri Salumi Co., Pacific Pickle Works, Salt Farm, Three Jerks Jerky and more
