Stephen Gage Appointed Executive Chef Of Little Italy's Pacific Standard Kitchen

July 17, 2017

Stephen Gage, who left his position as Executive Chef of Blind Lady Alehouse this past May, has been appointed to lead the kitchen at Little Italy's Pacific Standard Coastal Kitchen.

Pacific Standard Coastal Kitchen was opened in July 2016 with former Top Chef contestant Giselle Wellman leading the kitchen. After Wellman departed in March of this year, Chef Ami Cisneros, who worked with Gage at Blush, led the kitchen.

Gage moved to San Diego in 2009 to attend the San Diego Culinary Institute, where he received a Diplome de Culinare in "World Cuisine." After culinary school, Gage worked at the now-defunct Steakhouse at Azul in La Jolla, before moving on to the iconic La Valencia Hotel where he worked as Sous Chef for La Valencia and Café la Rue before becoming Chef de Cuisine. He then took the Chef de Cuisine role at the short-lived Blush Ice Bar before getting his first Executive Chef position at Underbelly North Park in September 2015. In 2016, he went on to take the helm in the kitchen at Blind Lady Alehouse in Normal Heights.

Chef Gage will add his culinary spin on the menu at the 4,200 square-foot Pacific Standard in the coming weeks. Expect to see an Asian influence on the seafood-centric menu.
