Heading into the space that currently houses Crave Grill House in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood is the first United States location of Mexican beer & chicken wings chain Vancouver Wings.
Vancouver Wings first opened in Guadalajara in 2009 and now has more than 80 franchises around Mexico. The menu is centered around nearly 20 flavors of wings, including increasingly spicy options, as well as burgers, salads, sandwiches, poutine, and a variety of combo meals. The fast-casual restaurant also prides itself on serving a large selection of national, international and craft beers, as well as Micheladas.
The Hillcrest branch of Vancouver Wings will sit at 3825 Fifth Avenue, which has come to be known as a cursed restaurant space due to frequent turnover. It will be the first north of the border outpost for the brand and will be operated by Gabriela Ruelas Jimenez of Chula Vista. The eatery is anticipated to open in early 2018.
