Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub Founder Teams Up For Fast-Casual Seafood Concept Shootz Fish & Beer

May 20, 2021

The chef-owner of North County San Diego's hit sushi destination Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub is teaming up to open a new fast-casual eatery and poke shop.

Opening as the food component of Oceanside's incoming BottleCraft location, Shootz Fish & Beer will be operated by builder-designer Chris Slowey, professional surfer Cheyne Magnuson, branding pro Mike Weeks and Wrench & Rodent founder Chef Davin Waite. Waite also operates The Whet Noodle and plant-based The Plot in Oceanside.

Shootz will operated from a glass-tile enclosed kitchen and walk-up window from within Bottlecraft at Tremont Collective where it will sell appetizers, poke bowls, several sandwiches and elevated corn dogs like one made with fresh-caught ahi tuna. To compliment the food, there will be a menu of beers brewed by a local brewery made to pair with specific dishes served at the eatery, including a Japanese lager made with rice. Like Chef Davin Waite's other restaurants, Shoots will have a zero-waste ethos and also serve vegan items.

Shootz aims to open by late summer/early fall at 602 South Tremont Street in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside. For more information, follow Shootz on Instagram
