Nashville Fried Chicken Chain Houston’s Hot Chicken To Open In San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter

January 20, 2022

Las Vegas-based Nashville hot chicken chain Houston’s Hot Chicken is taking over the space that previously housed Toscana Cafe & Wine Bar in the Gaslamp Quarter for its first San Diego location.

Houston’s Hot Chicken was founded in Henderson, NV, in 2021 by Houston Crosta and Edmond Baresghian, and the company now has several additional location in development. Houston's offers a menu of Nashville-style dry-spiced fried chicken at various heat levels, available in sandwich and tender form like the many other hot chicken restaurants.

The first San Diego branch of Houston's Hot Chicken will take over the downtown corner unit previously occupied by Toscana Cafe & Wine Bar, which shuttered in January 2021. The Gaslamp branch will be the first location with a full bar for Houston's, and they intend to serve a menu of draft beer and frozen hard lemonades and daiquiris.

Houston’s Hot Chicken is anticipated to open by summer 2022 at 238 Fifth Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, visit houstonhotchicken.com and check out the menu below.
