Kearny Mesa's Common Theory Public House To Open New Location In San Diego's South County

June 23, 2022

San Diego's 8-year-old Common Theory Public House bar & restaurant is opening a new location in the South County city of Chula Vista.

Common Theory Public House was opened by Cristian Lang and business partner Joon Lee in a strip mall off Convoy Street in San Diego's Kearny Mesa in 2014. In a neighborhood filled with Asian restaurants, Common Theory offered a menu of elevated tavern fare with a bar focused on San Diego craft beer. In 2018, the duo opened an apothecary-inspired speakeasy next door to Common Theory dubbed The Realm of the 52 Remedies and Woomiok, an authentic Korean bone broth place also in Kearny Mesa.

A second San Diego location of Common Theory will open in a new 4,500 square-foot standalone building within The Mix at Millenia mix-used community in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista. Like the original location, expect a globally-inspired menu of comfort food dishes like tacos, wings, sliders, fries, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, flatbreads, bowls and entrees, as well as lengthy list of locally-brewed beers, ciders, seltzers and kombucha.

Common Theory Public House is anticipated to open in early 2023 at 1610 Millenia Avenue in San Diego's South County city of Chula Vista. For more information, visit commontheorysd.com.
