A Restaurant Specializing In Indian Dosa Is Opening In San Diego

March 13, 2023

A new restaurant specializing in Indian-style stuffed crepes, Dosa Studio will open later this week in San Diego.

The founders of San Diego's three-year-old Charminar Indian Restaurant in Sorrento Valley, Syed Afzal and Abdul Basith have taken over the neighboring space that last housed Gazua Sushi within Plaza Sorrento Shopping Center to open a unique new dining concept. Dubbed Dosa Studio, the incoming eatery will be purely vegetarian with a menu centered around Indian thin pancakes, called dosa, that are traditionally served with various fillings and sauces.

A dosa is a thin crepe-like pancake traditional to South Indian cuisine made from a fermented batter of ground black lentils and rice, served hot, usually with a chutney and sambar lentil-based stew. Dosa Studio will off a wide variety of the dish.

Dosa Studio is expected to open by this Saturday, March 18, at 6755 Mira Mesa Boulevard, Suite 113, in San Diego's Sorrento Valley. For more information, follow Dosa Studio on Instagram
