Fat Tuesday Frozen Beverage Bar & Restaurant Ready To Grand Opening In Fromer Henry's Pub Space In San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter

After a bittersweet farewell to longtime Gaslamp institution Henry’s Pub, Fat Tuesday New Orleans-born frozen cocktail bar and restaurant is ready to let the good times roll in downtown San Diego.

This flagship venue represents a bold new chapter for the national daiquiri chain and marks its most ambitious concept yet. At 3,600 square feet, the San Diego location will be the brand’s largest, with a dual identity: a laid-back lunch and sports bar by day, and a high-energy nightlife destination after dark. Think DJs, bottle service, 30 televisions, late-night eats, and a kaleidoscope of slushy drinks swirling in souvenir cups.

"People have been begging us to come to California for years, and San Diego was the perfect place for us to bring the party," said Fat Tuesday CEO Alex Monahan in a statement. "It’s our biggest, boldest location yet, and we think it’s going to be a fan favorite."
The Gaslamp opening is the third in a series of immersive, larger-format Fat Tuesday concepts launched across the U.S., following recent expansions in Tampa and Fort Lauderdale. It’s also part of a national growth strategy driven by Garnett Station Partners, the New York-based private equity firm that acquired Fat Tuesday in 2021.

Fat Tuesday's drink menu will include 10 frozen cocktail flavors, a full bar, beer, and both classic and specialty cocktails. The location will also feature a full kitchen serving pizzas, wings, sliders, handhelds, and shareable bar bites. Expect value-packed combo meals, happy hour specials, weekend brunch, and game-day promos - all designed to attract both locals and tourists from noon to 2am daily.
The brand’s San Diego debut follows the dramatic closure of Henry’s Pub, which ended its 25-year run with a viral incident involving an employee and a street vendor, as previously reported by SanDiegoVille. Fat Tuesday quietly moved in shortly thereafter, aiming to reenergize the corner with Bourbon Street vibes and frozen libations.

Founded in 1984 on New Orleans' Bourbon Street, Fat Tuesday has grown to over 75 locations nationwide and abroad, with more than 100 expected in the coming years. The San Diego outpost is its first West Coast location and sets the tone for further California expansion.

Fat Tuesday opens Friday, June 27, at 618 Fifth Avenue in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, visit FatTuesday.com.
