Cheesecake Factory-owned Fox Restaurant Concepts is preparing to open the second San Diego County location of its popular all-day restaurant and bar, The Henry. The new outpost will debut July 23 at The Forum shopping center in Carlsbad.
The Henry offers a mix of indoor and outdoor seating in a coastal-inspired setting that combines classic and modern design elements. The Carlsbad outpost will span more than 6,700 square feet and feature an inviting patio framed by striped canopies and lush landscaping. The restaurant will seat 101 guests indoors and 125 outdoors.
The menu includes a variety of seasonal and house-made selections. Highlights include Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice, Short Rib Potstickers, Korean Prime Skirt Steak, and Scottish Salmon with toasted quinoa and pomegranate glaze. Brunch, served on weekends, will offer options like Huevos Rancheros Enchiladas, Quinoa Bowls, and rotating pastry selections. A full bar will serve signature cocktails, beer, wine, and zero-proof beverages such as Pineapple & Thai Basil Soda and a Sparkling Matcha Latte.
To celebrate the opening, The Henry has partnered with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation and will donate 30% of opening-day proceeds to support the nonprofit’s local environmental initiatives.
The Henry was first launched locally in Coronado in 2019 and is part of the broader Fox Restaurant Concepts portfolio, which includes brands like Flower Child, Blanco, North Italia, and Culinary Dropout. The company was acquired in 2019 by The Cheesecake Factory in a $308 million deal. While Fox Restaurant Concepts operates as a wholly owned subsidiary, founder Sam Fox remains involved and maintains ties to San Diego.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company drew some criticism over its handling of employee relief efforts, including a GoFundMe campaign to support furloughed staff. The group has also faced scrutiny over pandemic-era health reporting procedures. Nonetheless, Fox Restaurant Concepts has continued to expand in the region, with upcoming projects in Coronado and a recently opened location of Culinary Dropout within Del Mar Highlands.
The Henry will open to the public on July 23 at 1935 Calle Barcelona, Suite 170, in Carlsbad. For more information, visit thehenryrestaurant.com.
