The immersive installation promises to turn the restaurant into a winter wonderland for fans of the iconic sitcom, complete with themed cocktails, trivia nights, drag brunches, and a “St. Olaf’s Afternoon High Tea” for those who take their Rose Nylund fandom seriously. Visitors can sip a “Shady Pines Spritz,” nibble on a “Holiday Cheesecake Flight,” and pose for photos against banana leaf wallpaper - because nothing says Christmas like Dorothy Zbornak’s bedroom aesthetic.
According to organizers, the experience will also feature a shuffleboard court, dedicated “Shady Pines” staff, and an array of photo ops, from sitting at the Girls’ kitchen table to lounging on the Lanai. Fans are encouraged to bring their best shoulder pads and sarcasm, as the event celebrates the show’s recent 40th anniversary and its billion-plus hours streamed on Hulu.
This isn’t Bucket Listers’ first nostalgic foray into themed dining. The company previously launched The Malibu Barbie Café and “The Golden Girls Kitchen” in cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Miami - all to sold-out crowds of millennials and their moms reliving prime-time syndication glory. San Diego’s version, however, comes with a “Very Miami Christmas” spin, promising festive décor, themed drinks like “Blanche’s Hot Buttered Rum” and “Sophia’s Spiked Eggnog,” and enough irony to power a BuzzFeed listicle.
