One of the biggest acts in Regional Mexican music made an early stop in San Diego this weekend ahead of its upcoming Petco Park concert, giving fans a preview of what's to come when the group returns later this month for its first-ever stadium performance in America's Finest City.
Members of Fuerza Regida were in San Diego on Saturday, June 6, where bassist and band member Moisés López took the mound at Petco Park to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the San Diego Padres game. The appearance served as part of the promotional buildup for the group's upcoming "This Is Our Dream" stadium tour stop at Petco Park on June 18.
The Padres highlighted the visit on social media, sharing photos of López on the field alongside Padres players. The team captioned the post simply: "Puro Fuerza Regida."
Over the past several years, Fuerza Regida has transformed from a regional favorite into a global music phenomenon. The group has earned multiple Billboard Music Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Latin American Music Awards while charting hit songs including "Bebe Dame," "Ch y la Pizza," "TQM," "Harley Quinn," "Tu Boda," and "Por Esos Ojos." Their 2025 album 111XPANTIA continued the band's commercial dominance, further cementing their status as one of the most successful acts in Latin music.
But their San Diego visit didn't end at Petco Park. Later that evening, members of Fuerza Regida headed to the Gaslamp Quarter location of Tacos El Gordo, where they surprised fans by stepping behind the counter and helping prepare tacos alongside staff. Videos shared to the band's Instagram account, which boasts more than 11.5 million followers, showed Moisés López working the grill, interacting with employees, posing for photos, handing out merchandise, and greeting customers.

The Southern California-based group has become one of the most influential forces in contemporary Regional Mexican music. Formed in San Bernardino in 2015, Fuerza Regida helped popularize the corridos tumbados movement and has evolved into one of the genre's biggest crossover success stories. The band currently consists of frontman Jesús Ortíz Paz, Samuel Jáimez, Khrystian Ramos, José "Pelón" García, and Moisés López.

In a post accompanying the videos, the group wrote: "We had to come bless San Diego! We love y'all! See you back here June 18th for the first show at Petco Park!"
The visit generated significant online attention, with fans flooding the comments section and sharing photos and videos from the impromptu appearance.
The upcoming Petco Park concert marks a milestone for both the band and the venue. Fuerza Regida's June 18 performance is part of the group's ambitious "This Is Our Dream" stadium tour and represents one of the largest Regional Mexican concerts ever staged at the downtown San Diego ballpark.
The tour arrives during a period of unprecedented growth for Mexican music in the United States. Artists including Fuerza Regida, Peso Pluma, Grupo Frontera, Junior H, and Natanael Cano have helped push Regional Mexican music into mainstream American pop culture, regularly appearing on Billboard charts and selling out arenas and stadiums across North America.
For San Diego fans, Saturday's appearance offered an unexpected preview of the excitement surrounding the upcoming show. Between throwing out the first pitch at Petco Park and serving tacos in the Gaslamp, Fuerza Regida made it clear they are already embracing San Diego before their official return later this month.
Fuerza Regida's "This Is Our Dream" stadium tour stops at Petco Park on Thursday, June 18. For tickets and more information, visit the Padres website or follow @fuerzaregida on Instagram.
