Dlush, San Diego-based luxury beverage and food brand, is set to open a campus flagship lounge on Monday, January 20 inside UC San Diego’s Price Center. Dlush’s 2,000 sq. ft. location at center-court inside the UC San Diego Price Center will serve the 38,000 students and faculty, and an estimated 18,000 daily visitors. A coveted location, campus leaders selected Dlush over mainstream national brands as part of a larger campus initiative set to align with local, creative, socially innovative brands.
The UC San Diego Price Center offers a variety of services, places, and spaces geared to the needs of students including fast food restaurants, the central bookstore, movie theater, and various student organizations.
“Since the introduction of Dlush in 2001, our goal has been to create a youth movement that inspires youth to discover and share their innate greatness through acts of social responsibility,” said Jeffery Adler, Dlush Founder & CEO. “We are honored to have been selected to be in the heart of the campus.”
In conjunction with the opening of its UC San Diego campus flagship lounge, Dlush will introduce The Dare to Dream Foundation. Slated for 2014, “For every drink you purchase, Dlush will share in return a drink to a kid in need.” Dlush is a local, consumer-facing brand with a vision to participate in making San Diego synonymous for social innovation in education. The Dare to Dream Foundation aims to align itself with similar school campuses, charities and hospitals that Dlush has collaborated with in the past, including: University of San Diego, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Rady Children’s Hospital and more.
Casual and expert foodies will be in for mouth-watering concoctions of simple, classic drinks for purists and unusual combinations for the adventurists. Dlush guests will awaken their senses with handcrafted, gourmet drinks inspired by a world of flavors, such as: Saigon Surge, Blueberry Burst and Dulce de Leche Latte. Dlush’s fast casual menu items will meet consumer demand for both rich and healthier choices served within a quick-serve format. From Dlush Balsamic salad to Singaporean Loti’s, Dlush’s sweet, savory, and cross-cultural menu introductions are ready to make a strong impression on any palate.
Dlush exists to connect people together to enjoy playful drinks and hip comfort foods in a space specifically designed to inspire people to dream big and to live big. Transcending the traditional concept of a coffee shop or restaurant, Dlush is a complete experience with handcrafted drinks and food at the centerpiece. The campus flagship lounge is a social affair complete with tabletop whiteboards, chalkboard surfaces and iPad docking stations to enable students to share and exchange.
