V Elements Festival returns to Liberty Station for Another Day of Yoga & Music Saturday, April 5

March 17, 2014

The 2nd Annual V Elements Festival (pronounced Five Elements) returns to Point Loma's Liberty Station on Saturday, April 5 from 9am to 12am for a day focused on balancing the five elements earth, wind, fire, water, and space as represented through yoga, music, community, art, health, and environment. There will be yoga classes by day taking place on the green and led by some of the most sought after instructors California has to offer, and electronic, funk, hip hop, soul and world music by night from local, regional and national touring artists. Other unique offerings include healthy food options, a libations garden by Ballast Point, free massages, the largest solar powered stage in the country and much more!

In its inaugural year, V Elements hosted San Diego’s largest solar-powered party, with over 2,000 attendees who, in addition to the yoga and music portions of the event, enjoyed a variety of creative vendors and artists, local food, workshops, free massage, and acupressure. This year there will be higher profile music acts and yoga instructors, expanded event grounds, an additional stage, more daytime workshops,  bodywork practitioners, artists, vendors and décor, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter!

Presented by Alternative Power Productions, The Madero Group and Indie Yoga, the V Elements Festival will offer a one of a kind experience unlike any other festival in San Diego.  Throughout the day, the Alternative Power Productions' solar powered stage will host yoga instructors, each paired with music to further connect internal rhythms of participants in hopes of using energy, movement and music to awaken a new level of mindfulness.   The lineup features selected Californian teachers rooted in Yogic tradition, who will use their skills to help festival-goers break free from the daily routine and discover the Oneness of life.  Yoga classes will seek to balance the internal fire, water, earth and wind elements, as attendees celebrate together in the fifth element - space.

Music will play a key role at V Elements as world renowned musicians will grace the stage in an effort to bring festival goers together with the gift of music.  Musical performances include Emancipator Live Ensemble, Orgone, Particle featuring DJ Logic, Ana Sia, Hej Fund, Freddy Todd, Slow Magic, Desert Hearts (Mikey Lion, Deep Jesus, Marbs & David Pørkchop Leon), SuperDre, DINK music, The Routine, Michael Divinity Mannino, Pool Party, Gina Cat, Dj Scuzzy and Ryan Nadlonek. Original music and visuals in all areas will provide an ambiance of celebration and fun. Guests are encouraged to dance if they want and to engage with the music and visuals around them.

V Elements will also feature some of the best sustainable food and drink vendors from around San Diego, including Ballast Point Brewing, Go Raw, God Save The Cuisine, farm.fish.fork., Saffron Vegetarian Delicacies and more.

Alternative Healing Network will be hosting a “Healing Arts Pavilion” offering massage and other treatments throughout the yoga sessions and the first half of the day for no additional charge to attendees. The Alternative Healing Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes the use of integrative healing arts and improves access to ‘alternative’ health care for under-served populations.

Focused on energy usage and carbon management, V Elements will also work with Carbonfund.org to calculate and offset its carbon footprint through the purchase of carbon offsets. Five Elements will be the greenest yoga, music and arts festival in the country!
