Harrah's SoCal Debuts Latin Food + Wine Festival | Sunday, May 25

The recently revamped Harrah’s Resort Southern California will host its inaugural Latin Food + Wine Festival on Sunday, May 25 from 2 - 6pm in The Events Center. With over 20 wineries participating, guests will enjoy unlimited tastings including offerings from local restaurants and celebrity chefs, all while celebrating the rich history of Latin wines dating back to the 16th century.

In celebration of the expansive history of Latin wines and Spanish influence in California, tastings by some of the regions top wineries such as Gran Sarao, Beso de Vino, Juan Gil Dry, Paco & Lola, Pedroncelli Vineyards, E&J Gallo Winery and Orfila Vineyard will be available. Trichero Family Estates and Francis Ford Coppola Winery will also be in attendance. With more being booked daily, a selection of other vintners and wineries that will be in attendance include Hunees Vinters, Lustan Sherrys, Bodegas Paso Robles, Vina Hermina, Bodegas Vega Sicila, La Roja Alta, Descendientes de Jose Palacio, Bodegas Olivares, Hermanos Pecina, Valdespino and more.

Fox's Master Chef runner up and local San Diegan Natasha Crnjac and Sam The Cooking Guy will be on-hand creating dishes and dazzling taste buds. There will also be a special appearance by a guest chef from Baja California. Tantalizing, Latin-inspired dishes from Aqui es Texcoco, Cocina del Charro will be available for tasting, along with offerings courtesy of Fiore and Harrah's Resort chefs. Cafe Sevilla, Hacienda de Vegas and Mi Guadalajara are also lined up to attend.

Guitarist Emilio Modern Gypsy & Flamenco dancers will be wowing the crowds with live performances. San Diego's Todo Mundo, who won “Best World Music Album” at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards for their album Organic Fire, will be blending Rumba, Reggae, Samba, Gypsy, and other South American and Caribbean rhythms to an irresistible groove that has been moving dance floors and connecting with audiences throughout North America, South America, and Europe. And of course no Latin festival would be complete without a Mariachi Band.

General Admission passes to Latin Food + Wine Festival are $60 for entry from 3 - 6pm where ticket holders will receive a commemorative tasting glass and can enjoy unlimited samples from local restaurants and celebrity chefs alongside Latin-influenced wines. VIP access is $120, giving participants early access at 2pm as well as the opportunity to relax with special tastings in the VIP lounge.
