Thankfully these San Diego spots deliver the love with an ideal combination of food, drinks and good vibes. Before seeking out flowers or chocolate, make your reservation for one of these ultimate V-Day happenings.

With all the candy hearts, rose specials and abundance of red and pink, it’s hard to forget that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Celebrate V-Day at these San Diego eateries or events, where memories are sure to last longer than flowers and a box of chocolate! They are certain to impress with delectable meals, fine wine, craft cocktails, special events and dancing.

The early bird gets the love! Union Kitchen & Tap in the Gaslamp will start serving Valentine’s Day brunch at 9am, with $15 bottles of champagne paired with a carafe of juice. Pop the bottle and start feeling bubbly! If you’re flying solo this Valentine’s Day, celebrate at their Anti-Valentine’s Party on February 13. The spot will offer drink specials all night and a DJ from 10pm to close.

Toast to your love with a three-course meal at Pacific Beach AleHouse. Just steps from the sand, the restaurant is offering dishes such as short rib carpaccio, caprese salad, crab stuffed salmon, a foie gras burger and mini lava cake for $30 per person. With several options to choose from for each course and gluten-free offerings, the meal is extremely customizable!

The Duck Dive is hosting a Black Hearts Party designed for those with a dark side. The bar will pour $5 Dark and Stormy Black Magic love potions all day long. Beginning at 9pm, get your black heart pumping with tunes from the DJ. Before dancing the night away, take a seat for dinner at the beachside eatery.

The Brew Project has something for everyone this Valentine’s Day. With a beautiful indoor fireplace, full bar, 24 fully-rotating local brews on tap and a dual-level patio, it’s the perfect spot for the day. Start your morning at The Brew Project for brunch, or head over for dinner. Beginning at 6pm, the Hillcrest gem will be offering a four-course menu for $60, or $70 with craft beer pairings. The meal will kick off with a specialty sparkling passion fruit cocktail. From there, highlights include amberjack crudo, smoked tomato and fennel bisque, pan seared salmon and steak frites.

Fill your heart (and belly) with farm-to-table cuisine at Farmer’s Bottega. The Mission Hills eatery will be serving a three-course meal for $50 per person, with the option to add a wine pairing for $15.

Nestled in the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego, Sirena Cocina will offer a Latin-inspired Valentine’s Day menu for $45 per person or $80 per couple. Specialty wine pairings can be added for $15 per person. The delectable menu offers Baja oysters, lobster salad, South American-style surf and turf and a Valentine’s chocolate heart dessert.

A San Diego staple, Dobson’s, will serve a prix fixe menu on February 13th and 14th beginning at 5pm. The four-course meal will be offered at $55 per person and includes a complimentary glass of champagne. Start with the renowned Dobson’s mussel bisque en croute. Decadent entrée selections include filet mignon with truffle sauce, Chilean sea bass and Magret de Canard, a French-style duck breast.

A Valentine’s Day dinner like no other awaits you at Bellamy’s in Escondido! The menu features Bellamy’s signature modern California cuisine, infused with French flavors. The four-course meal is priced at $69 per person, with an optional wine pairing for $30 per person. With savory items including Washington oysters, braised local pork cheeks and a Menage a Deux dessert - your loved one will be saying “be mine!” in no time.

Café 21 will be celebrating Valentine's Day with a three course pre-fix menu from February 1-14. For $45 per person, guests can enjoy a fixed menu with highlights such as baked oysters, lamb chops with pistachio crust, winter roasted veggie medley, cocoa nib braised short rib with sweet potato shallot mash, and a flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Every meal includes 1 glass of strawberry sangria, sure to make any lover swoon.

Gelato Paradiso is offering $2.14 off any cake or 12 pack of gelato pops until Valentine’s Day. Cakes are made fresh in-house daily featuring ingredients imported directly from Italy. From heart shaped creations with fresh raspberry sorbetto to double chocolate gelato on a moist chocolate sponge, one bite and you’ll be in love. 

Starting at 5pm on Valentine’s Day, Hello Betty Fish House in Oceanside will be serving up a special menu for guests to enjoy with the restaurant’s sweeping coastal views. As part of the laid back holiday celebration, Hello Betty Fish House will have special menu highlights for the day including oysters opah, beets and berries salad, Po’ Boy lobster mac and more.

Artisan specialty oil, vinegar, sprits and liqueurs purveyor, Vom Fass in Hillcrest will be getting the holiday started early this year. Starting at 11am, they’ll be putting on Bubbles for Brunch. For $5 guests can sip on a Kir Royale champagne cocktail paired with a hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberry made with the store’s Maletti vinegar. They’ll also be serving up a specialty Cupid Cordial cocktail made with vodka, Crancello and strawberry balsamic.

Sweet Petite Confections, an artisan chocolate shop on the border of Bay Park and Clairemont, will offer a trio of specials including limited edition chocolates, chocolate making classes, and wine and chocolate tastings. On Saturday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 13, the“Make Sweets for Your Sweetheart” chocolate making classes  will give participants the chance to make chocolate bark and molded chocolates and decorate their creations using Valentine decor. Perfect as a pre-dinner activity, chocolatier Sweet Petite will also offer “Sweethearts’ Wine & Chocolate Pairings” on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14. Couples will sample three wines artfully matched with three of the shop’s limited edition Valentine’s chocolates. Sweet Petite Confections will also send couples off with a goodie bag.

The world-renown romance of France will be showcased in San Diego this Valentine’s Day with Bleu Bohème’s three-course ‘Saint Valentin’ menu exclusively on Sunday, Feb. 14. Created by owner and executive chef, Ken Irvine, Bleu Bohème’s specialty three-course menu is priced at $69 per person. A specialty cocktail will also be available for the celebration, priced at $12.

All Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill locations will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a specialty three-course prix-fixe menu for $50 per couple, available Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14. The meal will begin with a shared selection between Mediterranean dip sampler or burrata, prosciutto and lentil salad, prepared for the couple to share. The entrée course will include two entrees per couple.Warm, crispy mini donuts or salted caramel pudding will be offered for dessert, with one selection per couple. Diners will also have the option to add a bottle of manager’s special red or white wine for $28.

Enjoy an intimate and delectable dining experience this Valentine’s Day at Mille Fleurs. Couples can cozy up in the warm and inviting dining room and experience the delicious creations from Chef Martin Woesle’s specially prepared Valentine’s Day prix fixed menu. The four-course menu includes several choices including a four mushroom risotto, sea scallops and “St. Pierre” John Dory, and a beef filet “Rossini.” To make the night extra sweet guests can choose between chocolate crepes, classic crème brulee or a fresh fruit salad for dessert. Dinner costs $105 per person plus 20% gratuity added to all checks.

Love is in the air at Mister A’s with its boasting views of downtown and the harbor. Celebrate with your sweetheart at Mister A’s this Valentine’s Day and enjoy a sinfully delicious four-course prix fixe dinner menu. Guests will have a choice of delicious items such as lobster bisque, oven roasted Maine lobster tail and traditional tiramisu for dessert. If a romantic Sunday brunch is more your style, Mister A’s will also be offering a special 3-course prix fixed menu with many choices including jumbo Black Tiger shrimp cocktail, Cedar River filet mignon and a rich raspberry & chocolate bar for dessert. Dinner costs $105 per person and brunch $50 per person with an additional 20% gratuity added to all checks.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a romantic escape and fine cuisine at Downtown San Diego’s Westgate Hotel with the “La Vie en Rose” Valentine’s Day weekend. On February 13 at 7pm, Executive Chef Fabrice Hardel is stirring up romance with a five-course French dinner paired with fine French wines starting at $159 per person. A special Valentine’s Sunday Brunch is available February 14 between 10am and 2pm. In addition to the Westgate’s brunch items, couples will enjoy lovely holiday-inspired desserts. Tower23 Hotel has a little something for everyone this Valentine’s Day. Couples can book the “How Suite It Is” package including a 2-night stay in a luxury suite with a jacuzzi tub. The package also features 2 signature robes, a bottle of Dom Perignon, a grande seafood platter and a rose petal bath. Single this Valentine’s Day? Tower23 has you covered! Book the “Kiss Off Cupid” package which includes a 1-night stay, bottle of Rose Sparkling Wine, in-room movie rental and a pint of ice cream. Both specials are valid from February 1-29. Also, Tower23's in-house, beachside restaurant JRDN is offering a three-course tasting menu for $60 per person.

Located in the heart of Little Italy, Bencotto is one of the most romantic spots you can celebrate with your special someone this Valentine’s Day. Bencotto has a variety of dishes for you and your sweetheart to choose from including Ravioli Di Granchio, handmade ravioli filled with crab meat served in a lobster bisque sauce with caviar, and Tagliolini Neri Con Asparagi e Scampi, homemade black squid ink thin fettuccine served in a shrimp bisque sauce with prawns and asparagus. Heaven Sent Desserts in North Park will be celebrating Valentine's Day with special treats just for the occasion. Gift your loved one to a decadent dessert or two from Heaven Sent's menu of delicious signature treats with favorites such as chocolate mousse stack, flourless truffle cake and red velvet bombs. For Valentine's Day, the bakery will also be offering Cake in a Jar with seasonal flavors such as strawberry, chocolate, and white chocolate with passion fruit, raspberry and blackberry purée. In addition to their pastry menu, Heaven Sent Desserts is also taking custom orders for Valentine's Day cakes.

The 5th Annual Jump Start Your Heart 5k Walk/Run will be back in San Diego this Valentine's Day, Sunday, February 14. Benefitting the Children's Heart Foundation and helping fund research and treatment of congenital heart defects, this year's race will take place at Mission Bay Park with registration beginning at 8am and the race starting at 10am. This year's event will feature a hosted beer garden at the Start and Finish line. Guests can enjoy music and local craft brews in the fenced off beer garden area after the race. Pricing ranges from $40-$50, and includes race entry, shirt, sunglasses, and a beer ticket.

For a uniquely romantic Valentine's Day, celebrate in Roaring '20s fashion at Carlsbad's Museum of Making Music's Valentine's Day Piano Soirée. Listen to a selection of melodies from the 1920s and 30s, including Ragtime, Stride Piano, Silent Film and Novelty Numbers. Enjoy small bites and wine while surrounded by marvelous sounds and fellow music lovers. Prizes will be rewarded for "Best Dressed."
