Metallica Announces Petco Park Concert As Part Of 2017 WorldWired Tour | Legendary Rock Band To Perform In San Diego On August 6

We cannot wait to head bang in Petco Park! As part of the legendary metal rock band's 2017 WorldWired Tour, Metallica, which announced the tour after a surprising collaboration with Lady Gaga at Sunday night's 59th annual Grammy Awards, will perform in San Diego's Petco Park on Sunday, August 6 with openers Avenged Sevenfold and Gojira. The last time Metallica played in San Diego was a surprise show at Spreckels Theatre during Comic-Con 2013.

Metallica's 2017 Worldwired Tour will take place at 25 locations around the United States and Canada, beginning May 10 and finishing on August 16, 2017. Presale ticket purchases for members of the Metallica Fan Club begin on February 14. Citi card members may purchase tickets beginning at 11am local time on February 14 and for a complete list of other presales can be found online. Public onsale is Friday, February 17 at 10am local time.

During Metallica's 2017 tour, the band will be visiting mostly football and baseball stadiums with a few festivals tossed in, along with participating in the grand opening festivities celebrating the re-opening of Nassau Coliseum in New York. Every ticket purchased includes buyer's choice of a standard physical or standard digital copy of Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, Metallica's latest studio album.
