Seasoned Industry Professionals To Open NYC-Inspired Cocktail Lounge In Downtown San Diego | Queensborough To Open In Former Maloney's Space This Summer

May 11, 2017

San Diego industry pros have joined forces for the launch of Queensborough Cocktail Lounge, a Prohibition-era, New York City-inspired bi-level bar and eatery taking over the former Maloney's Tavern space at 777 5th Avenue in the Gaslamp for a mid-summer opening.

The flagship concept from newly formed hospitality group Brethren Collective, Queensborough is named after the borough of Queens in New York City and everything from the design to the menu will be inspired by The Big Apple. Owned by seasoned San Diego industry professionals Shane Brennan (Omnia, Enlightened Hospitality, Comun, Holsem Coffee), attorney James Kaen, Matthew Ellis (Bluemotif Architecture), and Mike Vizcarra (Comun, Seven Grand, BangBang), Queensborough will bring an upscale cocktail experience to downtown San Diego, offering a lengthy menu of craft cocktails, a devotion to local craft beer and a menu inspired by NYC, all in a stylishly designed space by Bluemotif Architecture (The Crack Shack, Juniper & Ivy, Kettner Exchange). The two tier space will also include a basement lounge.

Queensborough Cocktail Lounge is anticipated to open by mid-July. For more information, visit queensboroughsd.com.
