Nestled atop Hotel Solamar and high above San Diego’s downtown, Upper East Bar (previously LoungeSix) is the reimagined rooftop lounge companion to Jsix, grand opening on May 26 with a new menu of creative cocktails and entertaining eats from Executive Chef Anthony Sinsay.
Hotel Solamar has revamped its former LoungeSix outdoor rooftop space, which now features a beach-luxe lounge adjacent to the pool with imaginative cocktails and a playful menu created by Jsix Chef Anthony Sinsay. Guests can ride the private elevator from Jsix to the rooftop where they will find a lush poolside oasis that offers sweeping city views and a non-pretentious vibe.
Sit back and settle in for lunch, happy hour or all-night eats. Sip on handcrafted cocktails and indulge in Chef Sinsay’s sharing menu tailor-made for social dining, which includes dishes like Citrus-Soy Beef Skewers, market-driven Daily Ceviche and Crab and Avocado Toast. The “selfish” side of the menu features dishes for diners with heartier appetites including the aptly named Ridiculous Grilled Cheese, Char-Grilled Little Gem Caesar and the “animal-style” inspired J6 Burger.
Let your bartender mix up an artisan cocktail such as the Blood Orange Margarita (El Jimador Tequila, blood orange and cayenne), the French Kiss (ruby grapefruit, Lillet Blanc and Moscato d’Asti) or the Death by Afternoon (Absinthe, sparkling wine and a twist) while drinking in the unmatched views that make the rooftop a go-to.
Upper East Bar’s menu will be served weekdays from 12-10pm, with Saturdays and Sundays being prime time and featuring a “Sunrise Social Hour” brunch menu with crave-worthy sweet and savory dishes such as Chef Sinsay’s House-Made Sticky Buns, Farmer’s Market Frittata, Peanut Butter French Toast Fries and Benny Bites. Rooftop brunch will be served on weekends from 10:30am to 2pm. Every Monday starting at 5pm, Upper East Bar will also host “Veuve Around the Clock” featuring a perfectly chilled glass ofVeuve Clicquot for $5 at 5pm., $6 at 6pm, $7 at 7p and $8 at 8pm.
