A new late night destination for barbeque unveiled in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood this week. Now open is Focus BBQ, a chain of restaurants with a menu of Northern Chinese cuisine that has two locations in Los Angeles.
Focus BBQ, which already has locations in the Rowland Heights and Industry City areas of Los Angeles, offers a menu of North Eastern Chinese delicacies, including an array of casseroles and rice noodle soups, as well as specialties like mung bean pancakes, fried milk, Tieling Dan Dan noodles, hot & spicy crawfish, and more. But the focus of this new restaurant is on Northern Chinese BBQ, also called Chuan'r, a practice of roasting meats, seafood and vegetables skewers over charcoal that originated in the Xinjiang province of China and is now a popular street food around the country.
Focus BBQ is located at 3904 Convoy Street, Suite 101, in the space that last housed Sang Deuan Thai and is open six days a week (closed Tuesday) from 4pm-3am. For more information, call 858.430.6186.
