Taiwan-Based Bafang Dumpling To Open First San Diego Location

October 6, 2022

A Taiwanese restaurant chain with over 1,000 locations, Bafang Dumpling will soon open its first San Diego branch.

Following a career as a math teacher then a mechanic, Jiayu Lin founded the first Bafang Dumpling in 1998 in the Tianmu neighborhood of Taipei, Taiwan. The franchise now has over 1,300 locations around Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, with the first U.S. location opened earlier this year in City of Industry, CA. The restaurant is currently franchising in the U.S., which will result in several new branches opening in Southern California and beyond.

The first San Diego branch of Bafang Dumpling will open in a 3,000 square-foot space within the Village at Mira Mesa Shopping Center. Like other branches, expect fast-casual service with a menu of Taiwanese comfort foods like potstickers, dumplings, "QQ" noodles, small plates, combo meals, tea lattes, matcha & boba drinks, and other soy milk-based beverages.

Bafang Dumpling is expected to open in early 2023 at 8118 Mira Mesa Boulevard, Suite 1, in San Diego's Mira Mesa. For more information, visit bafangdumpling.com and check out the menu below.
