El Dorado Cocktail Lounge Celebrates Half A Decade | Party With the Gang on November 5

October 14, 2013

Humbly located amidst the hustle and bustle of Broadway Street along the outskirts of downtown’s East Village neighborhood, El Dorado Cocktail Lounge opened doors in 2008 as one of the city’s very first bars solely devoted to the art craft cocktails. To celebrate half a decade of success, on Tuesday, November 5th, the four founders of El Dorado will reunite behind the bar for the first time since year ONE to stir, shake and strain amongst their closest friends and family. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. El D will throw a not-to-be-missed happy hour as a special thank you to all who have helped them along the way. The night’s lineup of classic hand crafted creations will consist of their top six cocktails over the last five years. The memorable event will come complete with a star-studded step and repeat, complimentary bites from a handful of CH Projects’ eateries, sets from EL D’s favorite local DJs, roving photography and a nostalgic slideshow.

The owners, three ambitious brothers and a lifelong family friend, migrated south from Spokane, Washington to San Diego with one dream in mind – to open their own bar. Nearly half a decade later, Nathan Stanton (Co owner of CH Projects), his younger twin brothers, Marshall and Matthew Stanton, and Ryan Kuntz sit at the top of their class as some of the finest barkeeps this city has to offer. Nationally respected as innovators and educators in their field, these gentlemen helped to blaze a trail in San Diego and opened doors for a great legacy to follow.

While at the forefront of the golden area of the specialty spirits, EL D also became home to a highly progressive entertainment program led by General Manager and the man behind the music, Steven Tuttle. Ushering in top tier artists like The Faint, Mayer Hawthorne, The Rapture, DCUP, Fred Falke, Classixx and Designer Drugs to name a few, now on any given night, one can walk into the modestly-hip 2,000 square-foot venue and experience some of the best up-and-coming DJ talent the city has to offer, in a more intimate, small scale atmosphere.

Landing one of the biggest EDM (Electronic Dance Music) acts of the year –handpicked by the internationally respected music genius himself, Pete Tong, of BBC Radio 1– at 9 p.m. the party will kick off with an exclusive performance by the four members of the electronic label, French Express Tour. Known for their mellow yet euphoric tracks, French Express artists and BBC Radio's “Future Stars of 2013” Jonas Rathsman and Perseus as well as and indie dance music pioneers Moon Boots and Isaac Tichauer have chosen EL D as one of only nine stops in their entire North American Tour.

In the week’s leading up to EL D’s big birthday, resident DJs/promoters V-Rock, Charlie Rock, Adam Salter, Question, Don’t Go Jason Waterfalls, Saul Q, Kid Wonder and Adam Salter will be releasing a series of mixtapes that represent EL D’s wide variety of entertainment. The mixtapes are available for download via  “El Doradio", El D’s very own soundcloud here.

This “Best of the Bar” cocktail menu will remain $5 all night. A $5 cover will be enforced for those looking to enter before 9 p.m., with the cover bumping up to $12 after 9 p.m. when The French Express Tour performance kicks off. For more information, visit eldoradobar.com.
