With 6 locations dotted around Mexico City, El Peladito has unveiled its first United States location in San Diego's South County, offering a baseball-themed ambiance complimented by a menu of Sinaloan Mexican seafood favorites.
Alejandra Herrera Hernandez and Chef Víctor Somoza Vega founded the first El Peladito restaurant in Mexico City in February 2014 and have since opened five more highly-rated locations around the sprawling metropolis. The baseball-themed restaurant serves a menu of Sinaloan dishes with a heavy focus on Mexican seafood. Last year, the restaurant partnered with Mexican actor Alexis Ayala to assist with expansion plans that included more branches around Mexico and outposts in the United States.
After taking over the space last occupied by Oggi's Brewhouse in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista last summer, El Peladito hosted a star-studded grand opening this past weekend. Like other branches, the restaurant is devoted to baseball and serves a seafood-centric menu featuring tacos, burritos, ceviches, mariscos stuffed molcajetes, tostadas, and entrees. There is also a variety of beer and wine.
El Peladito is now open Sunday through Wednesday from 11am-10pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 11am-12am, at 2130 Birch Road, Suite 104, in Chula Vista. For more information, visit elpeladito.com and check out the menu below.
