Sister Concepts New Motion Beverages & Embolden Beer Company To Open Next Month In San Diego's Miramar Area

October 24, 2020

Sister concepts New Motion Beverages & Embolden Beer Company have taken over the Miramar brewing facility last occupied by 32 North Brewing and will open a beer garden and tasting room next month with a menu of craft beer, hard kombucha, hard seltzer, hard sparkling tea, and health-focused non-alcoholic beverages.

"Myself and our CEO Kyle Pool were roommates at San Diego State, and after graduation, we became enamored with the San Diego craft beer scene," explained New Motion Beverages and Embolden Beer Company CMO & co-founder Andy Sist. "After a few years of working all day, and appreciating brewery culture on nights and weekends, we met the women who would ultimately become our wives and co-founders Megan and Ariana. After being encouraged to focus a little more on our health, Kyle and I discovered Kombucha. The benefits were apparent immediately, but we still longed for the excitement, community, and bold flavors of the craft beer and cocktail scene. One day Kyle (an engineer by trade) bought some books on Kombucha and brewing, and the rest is history. We began brewing and experimenting with process and flavor, helped along the way by fantastic friends and experienced consultants. After four years of experimentation and product development (as well as an encouraging showing as finalists in the 2018 Brewbound Pitch Slam) we were ready to find a home to build our vision of a space that caters to the modern craft explorer who is looking for a cutting-edge brewery experience. New Motion Beverages was born."

In early September, Pool and Sist took over the 10,000 square-foot facility that housed 32 North Brewing for 6 years. They are currently in the process of brightening the aesthetic of the space and creating a vibrant beer garden atmosphere inside and out. They will be doubling the size of the patio space to create one of the area's largest al fresco brewery experiences. Once open, a rotating selection of area food trucks will be on site. In addition to founders Kyle Pool, Andrew Sist, Megan Alkana, Ariana Jarrell, New Motion Beverages & Embolden Beer Company is backed by a group of consultants and partners that have launched over 170 breweries collectively and have a brewing team that boasts decades of experience between them.

"Embolden Beer Company came about when we were fortunate enough to secure a much larger facility than originally intended," continued Sist. "At our new home in Miramar, we are joined by local legends of brewing Cody Morris and Andrew Kelly from Mission Brewery, as well as keeping on Erik Price from 32 North. Their passion for reinventing classics with a modern twist, as well as boldly creating styles on the bleeding-edge of craft beer culture, inspired us to launch this brand as a tribute to the incredible San Diego craft pioneers that came before us while continuing to advance the scene. By offering a variety of better-for-you functional beverages alongside authentic San Diego craft beer, we hope to have everyone's friend group fully covered for a great time together enjoying real artisan beverages."

New Motion Beverages & Embolden Beer Company aims to grand open at 8655 Production Avenue, Suite A, in San Diego's Miramar area on November 21. For more information, visit drinknewmotion.com.
