Former Owner Of North County's Dija Mara To Open Hoxton Manor Bar & Restaurant In San Diego's North Park

June 2, 2021

Moving into the space that last housed the short-lived North Park Breakfast Company is Hoxton Manor, a new bar & restaurant concept from the chef co-founder of Michelin-recognized Dija Mara in Oceanside.

Dija Mara was founded by Rob Jones and Simran Soin when the former couple first met in Singapore. In 2017, they opened their Indonesian-inspired restaurant in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside, offering a menu of Balinese-meets-California cuisine originally executed by then-executive chef Ryan Costanza. Dija Mara's kitchen is now in the hands of Chef Jason Ambacher, and last October, under his lead, Michelin Guide named Dija Mara as one of 25 California restaurants deemed to be new "inspector discoveries". Last month, Soin took sole ownership of the partnership, making her the primary owner of Dija Mara in Oceanside.

Rob Jones has now branched off and recently took over the 2,480 square-foot space previously occupied by North Park Breakfast Company, which shuttered last summer after only a year in business. In addition to its interior dining space, the new concept dubbed Hoxton Manor will boast a rooftop patio and covered rear deck seating. Although details are still in the works, expect the menu to feature Southeast Asian dishes with a California twist made from locally sourced ingredients. There will also be a full cocktail program and an ample all-natural wine list.

Hoxton Manor restaurant & bar will be located at 3131 University Avenue in San Diego's North Park. For more information, visit hoxton-manor.com.
