Swiss Chocolate Company Läderach Opens First San Diego Store

September 2, 2021

With over 100 stores around the globe, Swiss chocolate manufacturer Läderach has opened its first San Diego branch.

Founded in 1962 in Glarus, Switzerland, by Rudolf Läderach, Läderach Chocolatier Suisse now has over 1000 employees and operates 100 stores in 35 countries around the world. Earlier this year, Läderach assumed the leases for 34 Godiva locations across the United States, resulting in its first San Diego branch opening in the former Godiva storefront adjacent to Better Buzz Coffee on the first floor of Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley.

"We are proud to expand in the US and bring the joy of our fresh premium Swiss chocolate to Simon properties coast-to-coast," said Nathanael Hausmann, president, Läderach North America. "We’ve had high e-commerce demand of our chocolate for everyday consumption and gifting in these new locations for the past year and can’t wait to bring our in-store experience to life there. A chocolate experience that will awaken all five senses because of our passion to deliver the freshest, highest quality chocolate possible."

The San Diego outpost of Läderach offers a selection of more than 85 varieties of fresh artisanal chocolate imported directly from Switzerland, including over 20 varieties of FrischSchoggi (extra-large tablets of fresh chocolate), more than 50 different pralines and truffles, several popcorn flavors, dozens of confectionery specialties, airy MiniMousses and a large selection of seasonal creations.

Läderach Chocolatier Suisse is now open at 7007 Friars Road inside Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego's Mission Valley area. For more information, visit us.laderach.com.
