Replacing Devine Pastabilities in the Midway District of San Diego's Point Loma is Cucina Caprese, a catering company-turned restaurant that offers a menu centered around wood-fired Italian cuisine.
Owned by Derya Ozbey with a menu executed by Italian-born chef Giuseppe Monaco, Cucina Caprese has been a fixture at local farmers markets and area pop-ups for nearly a decade. The concept recently signed a lease to take over the space that long housed Devine Pastabilities (Torpasta) within Nordic Village Shopping Center in the Midway District of Point Loma.

Expected to open this fall, Cucina Caprese will offer a menu of traditional Neapolitan pizza made with seasonal, local and organic ingredients, as well as San Marzano tomatoes, meats, cheeses and extra virgin olive oil all imported from Italy. The restaurant will also serve other Italian comfort foods, antipasti, salad, pasta, entrees and desserts. There will also be a curated wine list and a selection of beer.
