Salsa & Smoke/Iron Pig Alehouse Ends Run In San Diego's Pacific Beach

November 21, 2022

Iron Pig Alehouse was rebranded to become Salsa & Smoke this past summer, but the restaurant has ended its 8 year run in San Diego's Pacific Beach.

In fall 2014, Louise Kelly, Kenny Casciato and Brigette O'Donovan opened Iron Pig Alehouse in the heart of San Diego's Pacific Beach, offering a menu of Texas-style barbecue dishes and a devotion to local craft beer. In late July 2022, the restaurant shuttered citing the need to perform a remodel of the space, but in actuality, the Iron Pig Alehouse concept was rebranded to become a new Mexican-fusion concept dubbed Salsa & Smoke.

The rebranded restaurant opened to the public in late summer with a menu of Iron Pig Alehouse favorites combined with a contemporary spin on traditional Mexican cuisine, as well as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options, and a full bar with the addition of a recently-acquired full liquor license. Salsa & Smoke has now permanently shuttered, and the 4,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor restaurant is currently listed for sale by Flocke & Avoyer Commercial Real Estate firm at the asking price of $800,000. Base rent is currently $12,316 per month, plus approximately $2,000 in taxes and insurance.

Salsa & Smoke was located at 1520 Garnet Avenue in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit salsaandsmoke.com.
