Duck Foot Brewing Replacing Kings & Convicts Tasting Room In San Diego's North County

February 4, 2023

San Diego's gluten-reduced Duck Foot Brewing is replacing the short-lived Kings & Convicts tasting room in San Diego's North County city of Encinitas.

Opened at 8920 Kenamar Drive in San Diego's Miramar area in 2015 by New York City transplants Matt DelVecchio and Brett Goldstock, Duck Foot Brewing Company made a name for itself by using an enzyme to reduce the gluten in its beer during the peak of the gluten-free fad. In summer 2018, Duck Foot expanded with the launch of a full-scale brewpub and restaurant in San Diego's East Village but shuttered that location at the end of 2021.

Duck Foot Brewing Company has now taken over the 1,200 square-foot space on Coast Highway 101 in the Leucadia area of Encinitas that last housed a tasting room from Kings & Convicts, the Ballast Point Brewing parent company that took over the space after acquiring Saint Archer Brewing's facilities in early 2022. When it opens later this year, expect Duck Foot's new tasting room to serve a rotating tap list of core beers and seasonal offerings and special releases throughout the year. Some of its year-round offerings include a Kook Slams West Coast-style IPA, The Looker Blonde AleLiquid Jam Citrusy Hazy IPA, and Duckzilla Double White IPA. Seasonal offerings include an Hazy McBeer Face IPA, Sasquack Belgian Tripel, and Sour on Love Tart Cherry Berlinner-Weisse.

Duck Foot Brewing Company's new tasting room is anticipated to open as early as this spring at 978 North Coast Highway 101 in San Diego's North County city of Encinitas. For more information, visit duckfootbeer.com.
