Abnormal Heights Rooftop Bar & Restaurant Opening Soon In San Diego's Normal Heights

Abnormal Heights Rooftop Bar & Restaurant is almost ready to open in San Diego's Normal Heights.

Last spring, SKA Bar closed in Normal Heights after a nearly four year run. Originally opened in 2019 by Louie Chau, whose family operates Lotus Garden Chinese restaurant in City Heights, SKA Bar's 4,500 ground floor space was quickly leased by Coffee 'N' Talk and Meraki Cafe owner Remi Kaval, who opened a day-focused brunch restaurant called The Vibe.

The 2,600 square-foot rooftop space atop the building has since been repurposed by Chau will open later this month as Abnormal Heights. The new bar & restaurant concept will offer expansive views over Normal Heights and beyond, as well as casual upscale American dining with a twist. Expect lounge seating area with cozy fire pits and a large dining fire table. The menu will be centered around grilled cuisine and craft cocktails.
At Abnormal Heights, expect dishes like watermelon-Halloumi skewers drizzled with Aleppo oil; crab avocado terrine layered with mango salsa and topped with microgreens; grilled flat iron steak, house chimichurri, grilled rainbow carrots and herb mashed yukon potatoes; and garlic pepper scallops on a bed of lemon herb risotto, red pepppers, served with chili-buttered corn. From the bar, there will be a handful of creative cocktails and mocktails, as well as a selection of beer, hard beverages, and wine.

Abnormal Heights Rooftop Bar will grand open the weeken of April 27-28 at 3250 Adams Avenue in San Diego's Normal Heights community. For more information, visit abnormalbar.com.
