Yard House Craft Beer Bar & American Restaurant Opening New San Diego Location

August 6, 2024

A new location of Yard House craft beer bar and American restaurant chain is opening in San Diego.

Yard House is an American restaurant chain known for its extensive selection of draft beers and classic rock ambiance. The concept was founded in 1996 by Steele Platt, along with partners Steve Reynolds and Tom Yelenick, in Long Beach, CA. The flagship location quickly became popular, setting the stage for nationwide expansion. In 2012, Yard House was acquired by Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, a global restaurant operator that also owns Ruth's Chris, Eddie V's, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Seasons. 52, and more.

Over the years, Yard House has grown significantly, now boasting more than 80 locations across the United States. In 2015, Yard House closed its Gaslamp Quarter branch following a flood and also opened a branch within Westfield Mission Valley Mall.

Yard House will soon open its second San Diego County location in the space that last housed a Banana Republic within Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista. Like other locations, expect a contemporary atmosphere and an impressive beer list with up to 130 taps, offering a mix of local, regional, and imported brews. The menu is diverse, featuring a wide range of American cuisine with global influences, from burgers and steaks to seafood and vegetarian options.

Yard House is expected to open in early 2025 at 2015 Birch Road, Suite 803, in San Diego's South Bay city of Chula Vista. For more information, visit yardhouse.com.
