Celebrity Chef Tony Gemignani’s Slice House To Debut In San Diego’s Little Italy On May 17

A new slice of San Francisco is landing in San Diego as acclaimed pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani brings his award-winning Slice House concept to Little Italy. The fast-casual pizzeria, known for its wide variety of handcrafted pizza styles, will officially open its first San Diego location on May 17.

Slice House San Diego will offer a curated menu of Gemignani’s celebrated New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit-style pizzas, available by the slice or whole pie. The shop will also serve fresh pasta, wings, and salads, with options for gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets. A local twist comes in the form of America's Finest Slice, a specialty pizza created exclusively for the San Diego location in collaboration with brand partner Shayan Rajabi. The slice features a sesame seed crust, mozzarella, vodka sauce, pepperoni, crushed tomatoes, dollops of ricotta, Romano cheese, oregano, and garlic oil.

Located in the heart of Little Italy within the 2100 Kettner development, Slice House joins a mix of restaurants, boutiques, and fitness studios and sits across from the historic Waterfront Bar & Grill. It’s positioned just blocks from Piazza della Famiglia and close to popular destinations like Waterfront Park, the Maritime Museum of San Diego, and several local businesses and residential hubs. The opening celebration will begin at 11am on May 17 and includes giveaways such as a free Slice House baseball hat and a raffle for a chance to win free pizza for a year for the first 50 paying customers.

Beyond pizza, Slice House will spotlight local beverages, including rotating craft beer from Burgeon Beer Company, wines from Oddish Wines, and hard kombucha by Bücha Hard Kombucha, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic drinks. The new location offers a bi-level space with indoor seating for 20 guests and an outdoor communal patio that can accommodate 60 more. Customers will also have the option to order takeout or delivery in-store, online, or by phone.

Founded in 2010 in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood, Slice House has grown to include 20 locations across California and beyond. The San Diego outpost marks its 21st store and continues the brand’s mission of bringing high-quality, fast-casual pizza to communities through both dine-in and delivery formats. The restaurant will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 11am to 10pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 11am to 11pm.

Slice House will grand open on Saturday, May 17, at 2100 Kettner Boulevard in San Diego's Little Italy. For more information, visit slicehouse.com.
