Founded in 2019 by Remy Zurita, Hopnonymous Brewing began as a private-label beer producer before opening its flagship public taproom in Kearny Mesa later that year. Known for creative brews like Bringin’ Blondie Back, Plan of Attack, and Big Fundamental, the brewery quickly earned a loyal following for its quality, variety, and welcoming community vibe. The Kearny Mesa location, housed at 7705 Convoy Court, features a rotating lineup of IPAs, lagers, sours, and stouts, often paired with local food trucks and lively events.
The new Normal Heights outpost marks the brewery’s first expansion and a major milestone for the brand. Housed in a roughly 1,000-square-foot space, the taproom will feature 18 taps pouring Hopnonymous’ full range of globally inspired beers. The location previously served as one of Little Miss Brewing’s many tasting rooms before the company announced a full shutdown of operations earlier this year.
Little Miss Brewing, once one of San Diego County’s most widespread craft beer brands, officially closed all nine of its locations in March 2025, citing industry-wide challenges and financial strain. The Normal Heights tasting room, which had served as a laid-back neighborhood hangout, was among the final sites to close as the company liquidated its assets and exited the market.
For Zurita, the new location is the result of years of searching for the perfect space to expand. "It’s been a long time coming," he shared via social media. A new Instagram account dedicated to the Normal Heights taproom has been launched to keep fans updated on progress leading up to the grand opening.
Hopnonymous Brewing is expected to open its first satellite tasting room by mid-summer at 3514 Adams Avenue in San Diego's Normal Heights. For more information, visit hopnonymousbrewing.com.
