San Diego Restaurants Ordered Closed This Week (October 17 - October 23) By County Health Department

This is the weekly list of San Diego County restaurants and food facilities that have faced temporary closures and downgraded status due to health inspections from October 17 - 23, 2025.

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.

Below, we outline the recent week's closures and downgrades and the specific violation list for each as reported by the health inspectors.

Mochinut (2720 E Plaza Blvd, National City, CA 91950) - Ordered closed on October 21 for Food Contact Surfaces - Major; Vermin - Major; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance.

Denny’s #6488 (4235 Spring St, La Mesa, CA 91941) - Ordered closed on October 21 for Holding Temperatures - Minor and Sewage disposal - Major.

The Village Church (6225 Paseo Delicias, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067) - Ordered closed on October 21 for Vermin - Major and Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance.

Chakaa (4344 Convoy St, Suite L, San Diego, CA 92111) - Ordered closed on October 21 for Vermin - Major; Storage of Toxic Substances - Out of Compliance; Equipment and Utensil Storage, Use - Out of Compliance; Plumbing - Out of Compliance; and Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance.

Breakfast Republic (2730 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104-2812) - Ordered closed on October 21 for Hot and Cold Water - Minor;Vermin - Major; and Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance.

Addis Market (3643 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92104) - Ordered closed on October 21 for no violations listed. 

Buga Korean BBQ (5580 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92117) - Ordered closed on October 21 for Vermin - Major; Equipment and Utensil Storage, Use - Out of Compliance; Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance.

Mr Tempo Cantina (701) 5th Ave, San Diego, CA 92101) - Ordered closed on October 22 for no violations listed.
