San Diego Restaurants Closures & Downgrades This Week (November 21 - November 27) Due To County Health Department Inspections

This is the weekly list of San Diego County restaurants and food facilities that have faced temporary closures and downgraded status due to health inspections from November 21 - 27, 2025.

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.

Below, we outline the recent week's closures and downgrades and the specific violation list for each as reported by the health inspectors.

CLOSURES:

Black Angus Steakhouse (707 E St, Chula Vista, CA 91910) - Ordered to remain closed on November 21 (originally closed on November 20) for Vermin - Major. 

Glorias Taco Shop (1233 28th St, San Diego, CA 92102) - Ordered to remain closed on November 21 (originally closed on November 20) for Vermin - Major. 

Single Fin Surf Grill (3844 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 92109) - Ordered closed on November 24 for Proper Cooling - Major; Food Contact Surfaces - Minor; Hot and Cold Water - Major; Thawing Methods - Out of Compliance; Nonfood Contact Surfaces Clean - Out of Compliance; Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

Burger King 952 (1265 Third Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911) - Ordered closed on November 24 for Vermin - Major; Nonfood Contact Surfaces Clean - Out of Compliance; and Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance.

Lazy Eye Coffee (4011 Avati Dr, San Diego, CA 92117) - Ordered closed on November 25 for Hot and Cold Water - Major and Sewage disposal - Major.

Chula Vista Ice Cream 15 (163 Mace St, Chula Vista, CA 91911) - Ordered closed on November 26 for Food Handler Training - Minor; Holding Temperatures - Minor; Hot and Cold Water - Major; Sewage disposal - Major; Equipment, Utensils, Linens Storage and Use - Out of Compliance; Grade Card, Last Inspection Report, Permit Available, Written Procedures - Out of Compliance.

DOWNGRADES:

No downgrades this week.
