Good Pressure Brewing is led by Erik and Shannon Fowler, longtime East County residents whose combined experience in hospitality, branding, education, yeast science, and local brewery operations has shaped the concept into a polished neighborhood gathering place. The 3,500-square-foot brewery occupies the former home of Poochie’s Hooch Urban Cidery, a space the Fowlers spent much of the year transforming. The result is a bright and inviting taproom with natural light, greenery, a reconfigured L-shaped bar, and multiple distinct seating areas. Two patios - one in front and another string-lit space in the rear - extend the layout and provide family-friendly options intended to accommodate everything from post-hike beers to birthday celebrations.
Good Pressure was developed with a clear goal: to meet guests where they are. The tasting room layout, beverage menu, and service model were crafted to eliminate barriers and create a relaxed environment for both experienced craft-beer drinkers and those who simply want something approachable. The brewery launches with a lineup centered on clarity and drinkability, including a blonde ale, American light lager, Pilsner, hazy IPA, West Coast IPA, and a coffee stout. Hard seltzers round out the tap list, and the brewery also maintains the previous location’s wine license, allowing for small-batch cider and wine releases.
The brewing program aims to produce 750 to 1,000 barrels during its first year, focusing primarily on taproom service with select placements at nearby bars and restaurants. The Fowlers plan to scale production gradually, with a long-term target of 5,000 to 7,000 barrels annually. Their background -spanning White Labs, local education programs, and the San Diego Brewers Guild - has informed a deliberate approach to recipe development, operations, and guest experience.
Food will be provided through a rotating schedule of local pop-ups, including wood-fired pizza, Argentinian street food, barbecue, and other small vendors. The consistent lineup is intended to tie Good Pressure to neighboring small businesses and build a dependable weekly rhythm for the community.
Good Pressure Brewing joins a growing commercial corridor at the intersection of Allied Gardens, San Carlos, and Del Cerro, just minutes from Mission Trails Regional Park. With its accessible location, family-friendly design, and balanced beer program, the brewery is positioned to become a new go-to spot for nearby residents and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a post-trail pint.
Good Pressure Brewing is now open at 7559 Mission Gorge Road in San Diego’s Allied Gardens neighborhood. For more information, visit goodpressurebrewing.com.
